PFLAG is a national organization that started in 1973 after one mother publicly supported her gay son, and has now grown into the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ family and ally organization. PFLAG has over 400 chapters working to help family, friends, and allies of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people gain an understanding of one another.

Our chapter

Our chapter formed in 2017 because we saw a need for a local organization dedicated to helping the families of LGBTQ+ people and expanded from there. We hold support meetings the 4th Monday of every month where families, friends, and LGBTQ+ people alike can come and share their feelings, struggles, and achievements in a safe and welcoming environment.

We hold a support meeting the fourth Monday of every month from 7-9pm at Land O’ Lakes Heritage Park. Along with our support meetings, we hold a Coffee Hour on the second Monday of each month from 7-8pm at varying locations. More information is sent out in our mailing list which you can join at the bottom of this page, or by emailing us directly at pflagwesleychapel@gmail.com.

To remain up-to-date on our current happenings, you can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram. We also have a general PFLAG discord server, where we post updates, and you can come and hang out with us.

We also strive to provide other resources to our community through education and advocacy. We attend local community events whenever possible, and also keep a lending library of LGBTQ+ centered resources for folks to borrow.
